The wise old woman
A long time ago in the wooded hills of Japan a young farmer and old wise woman (the mom of the farmer) live in a village ruled by a cruel young lord.
The young lord declared that old people has to go to die in the mountain.
The old woman said to the farmer that it’s time for me to go to die in the mountain. The farmer is so sad but he goes with his mom to the mountains.
The farmer said to his mom that he can’t stay in the mountain so he go back to his home and do a hiding-place for his mom.
The mom live in the hiding for many time but one day come three warriors galloped into the small village, the warriors come from the lord Higa to warn the people that in three suns have set and three moons have risen, the Lord Higa will come to conquer the village.
One of the three warriors called young lord said to the farmer that Lord Higa respect the mind people so you can solve this tasks to save your village. The impossible tasks are: the firs is make a coil of rope out of ashes , the second is run a single thread through the length of a crooked log and third is make a drum that sounds without being beaten.
The farmer looking for the six wisest people of the village to saw if they can solve the three impossible tasks. The six wisest people can’t solve the three impossible tasks so the farmer go to talk with the young lord to said that he can’t solve the impossible tasks. The young lord is so angry and threads the farmer with the conquest of the Lord Higa.
The farmer goes home to tall his Mather all that happens.
The old woman take a coil of rope and put in salt water and dried very good .Then light a match and put the rope so the rope don’t held its shape, and the first task is solve.
Then she takes a crooked log and put honey in one site of the crooked log. Next she catches an ant and ties a thread so the ant crossed the hole in the crooked log to found the honey. And the second task is solved.
Finally takes a drum, open one site, put a bee in the interior of the drum and closed so the bee make that the drum sounds without being beaten. And the third task was done.
When the farmer go to saw the young lord to tall that the impossible tasks are solve, the young lord cant believe and ask ho solve the impossible tasks, the farmer confessed that he hidden his mom and she is the person that solve the tasks.
The young lord understands that old people are very important because they transmitted many wisdom so he allowed the ruled that old people has to go to die in the mountain.
The young lord makes peace with the village and promethium that he never will come to conquered this village
